The threat of terror attacks on U.S. soil is eminent.. especially after the latest Paris and California attacks, it is not a matter of "IF" but of WHEN something is going to happen. And this shouldn't be news to anybody.
A personal consequence that I have drawn from this is that I wanted to always start carrying my firearm with me. I have had a CCW for about a year and a half now, but most of the time would either just have my gun in my purse or forget it at home all together! Not the concept behind owning a firearm...
As a female that has to wear business casual attire at my workplace, it has been an exceptional challenge to find a good carry concealed option that works with both my body shape and work requirements.
If you are a female or have a female in your life that is trying to carry concealed you are probably familiar with a lot of these issues: most IWB ( inside the waistband) holsters are not made to fit the more curvy shape of a woman's body, and thus the gun and/or holster would always awkwardly stick out, especially with the tighter clothing that women tend to wear. So I have tried everything from the "Flashbang" (Flashbang Holster
I had been eyeing several Kydex Hybrid holsters on Amazon for a long time, but with a price tag of close to $85.00 I didn't want to commit. My husband then mentioned Alien Gear Holsters to me and after just a little research I decided on the Cloack Tuck 2.0 IWB holster. (Glock 26 / Glock 27 Right Handed Holster 3.0 IWB Black for Concealed Carry
My choice of primary carry firearm is a Springfield XDS with a 3.3 inch barrel in 9mm.
As with many holsters you can chose right and left handed draw, as well as the specific holster shape for your firearm. This set-up retails for $35.88 plus shipping, an unbeatable price in my opinion.
(On a side-note: the 2.0 version is being discontinued by Alien Gear as of 1-1-2016, so your last chance to get your hands on one of these is 12-31-2015!!
- They have already released the newer version, the Cloack Tuck 3.0)
The features that stand out to me with this holster:
It is incredibly easy to adjust the height and cant of your gun, which allows for a lot of different carry options to fit different body types. The different options can simply be selected by loosening the screws and moving the clips to the wanted position; all the tools required come with your holster (the green plate down below)! Within just a few seconds, you can change it to whichever setting fits your needs!
It conceals incredibly easy! I chose to stick with the standard FBI height and 15° cant, it can be worn with a shirt tucked or un-tucked and due to its flexibility conforms easily to the curves of your body.
Despite the reasonable price, this holster is made from very high quality materials. My holster accidentally got washed a few days after I received it ( it stuck so well to the pants that we overlooked it) and aside from the Alien Gear logo wearing off a little, the rest of the holster has stayed in incredible shape! We have only had to re-tighten the screws every so often, but even if you were lazy (like me) and just ignored the looser screws, the clips hold onto your belt and won't come off or slide even with the constant getting up, sitting down or bending over/kneeling down that my job requires!
As I am right handed, I carry my pistol either in the small of my back or recently I have discovered that since this holster conforms to my body very well I can even carry on my right hip (as seen in the pictures) without the gun imprinting very much.
I also have not noticed any sweat accumulating underneath the holster as can be the case with many other neoprene holsters, but summer-time will put this truely to the test!
Since the shape of the shell is made specifically to fit your gun, it retains your firearms very securely and it will not fall out ( tried and tested every single day and it has always stayed in securely, but please practice safe gun handling - whether or not your gun has a round in the chamber treat it as if it is loaded and keep the muzzle safely pointed away from you and anything off the trigger!
As i would recommend with any new holster - carry your gun either unloaded or without a round in the chamber the first few times so you can see how your gun behaves, if it moves around or if anything could possibly touch the trigger.
With Alien Gear Cloack Tuck holsters there is absolutely nothing to be worried about! They are fantastic and that they are made right here in Idaho is just an added bonus!
Alien Gear also offers great combo deals for this holster with a second shell for another gun or with a gun belt at reduced prices!
As previously mentioned, this model (2.0) will be discontinued after 12-31-2015 , the Cloack Tuck 3.0 has an "added ultra-strong stainless steel spring core (...) This advanced holster material delivers more retention and durability to this holster base, allowing for years of hard use without breakage. This, coupled with a new layer of ballistic nylon, provides more strength and support to the Cloack Tuck 3.0 inside the waistband holster." They have also evolved their surface material into an engineered thermo-elastomer 'Alien Skin' texture, which enhances holster retention, drag and durability."(www.aliengearholsters.com)

Bottom line is:
Carry your handgun with you... always. It won't do you any good lying in your glove box, your nightstand or your purse.
Invest in a good quality holster that will work WITH you and your needs and that will make it easy and fun to carry every day. I hope this article was able to show you that by supporting an American company, you don't have to shell out the big bucks for a high quality item that will last a lifetime.
Make it work for you and do whatever is necessary to survive and thrive!
